| Tamil Nadu is reeling under sever power crisis |
The Center on Thursday informed the Top Court that Tamil Nadu needs to be blamed for that energy crisis it's facing because it hadn't increased the power grid for receiving surplus energy.
Attorney General G.E. Vahanvati, showing up for that Center told a 3-Judge Bench of Chief Justice Altamas Kabir and Justices S.S. Nijjar and J. Chelameswar that so far as the energy surrendered through the NCT Delhi was concerned, this year the Center had attempted to allocate Tamil Nadu additional energy. With this year, he stated, based on the Union Energy Ministry every power grid had certain capacity. The southern power grid didn't be capable to get the available surplus energy.
Mr. Vahanvati stated, “The Tamil Nadu government hadn't increased enough the power grid and also the Condition itself accounts for the energy crisis. Eight States are demanding a be part of the surrendered energy and we'll distribute it in a fashion that each power grid can withstand.”
Senior counsel Mukul Rohatgi, senior counsel Ranjit Kumar and extra Advocate General Subramonium Prasad wanted a legal court to problem a direction towards the Center to help keep aside the surrendered energy, as otherwise the entire suit filed by Tamil Nadu would become infructuous.
The AG responded the surplus energy couldn't be saved.
CJI told counsel for Tamil Nadu, “We aren't experts in determining the problem. We want technical particulars from a specialist body.”
Inside a brief order, the Bench stated, “Issue notice. With respect to the Union Asia, you will find certain difficulties expressed in supplying energy straightway. Regarding the capability from the southern power grid to accept load of excess energy to become presented to Tamil Nadu, the lawyer General is asked for to file for an affidavit showing the reason why that the prayer of Tamil Nadu can't be considered to some extent.”

Meanwhile, the Bench stated because it concerned technical position, the Central Electricity Authority should examine and submit a study towards the court. The Bench directed the problem to become listed for more hearing on November 29.
In the application filed within the suit, Tamil Nadu searched for a direction to restrain the Center from re-allocating the whole energy surrendered through the National Capital Territory (NCT) of Delhi, viz 230 MW of round-the-clock energy and 1491 MW energy (available between night time and 6 am) holiday to a Condition.
The Condition stated, “It may be the right of Tamil Nadu to interest in the surrendered energy to satisfy the ultimate energy shortage faced through the Condition. Just the Union asia is empowered to reallocate the surrendered energy together with the transmission corridor so it has unsuccessful to do this.”
It further stated, “In 2012-13, because of the failure of South-West monsoon the Condition is facing acute shortage of energy. The folks of Tamil Nadu are spinning under massive energy cuts, rising to 12 hrs every single day.
It stated, “Tamil Nadu apprehends the Central government will re-allocate the surrendered energy to another States, which aren't as stressed as Tamil Nadu is, and therefore deny the Condition of Tamil Nadu of their justified need for re-allocation from the entire energy surrendered through the NCT of Delhi.”
